HISTORY C.M.C. WORLD

Foundation and Early Years   1937: The C.A.T. Association (Circle of Art and Technique) was founded in 1937 by François Manien. The initial goal of the organization was to bring together people of different nationalities to support and develop the art of hairstyling. In these early years, the association worked intensively to attract members from various countries, laying the foundation for international collaboration. International Expansion 1961: In the 1960s, C.A.T.’s influence expanded rapidly. Countries such as Italy, France, Great Britain, and Germany, already actively involved, encouraged other hairdressing associations around the world to join. This period saw increasing collaboration and exchange of ideas among industry professionals at the international level. 1964: The growing membership from new countries led to the birth of a new idea: to unite all members under one global organization. Thus, the World Confederation of Coiffure (C.M.C.) was born, with the goal of promoting excellence and innovation in hairstyling worldwide. Changes and Development 1988: The death of founder François Manien marked the beginning of a new era for the C.M.C. For several years, the presidency was entrusted to Vincenzo Tocci, who made significant contributions before resigning. 1992: New leaders were elected to guide the organization: Ivan Beauchemin as General President of the C.M.C. and Guy Persico as Active President of the C.M.C. 1996: The Artistic and Technical Confederation of Coiffure (new C.A.T.) was established, continuing to pursue the original goals of the association but with a renewed and modern approach.
